In Catchings v. Wood Stork Delivery LLC / National Liability & Fire Insurance Company and North American Risk Services, Inc., OJCC Case No. 25-023839JAW, Judge Jack A. Weiss addressed a claimed low-back injury from loading a delivery truck.

The JCC denied the claims after finding the claimant did not timely report a work injury and did not prove employment was the major contributing cause of the lumbar condition, disability, or need for treatment. The order credited employer witnesses and contemporaneous texts and medical records over the claimant's later testimony.

Because the claimant did not establish a compensable accident, the JCC denied and dismissed the claims for temporary partial disability, medical authorization, penalties, interest, costs, and attorney's fees with prejudice.
