In Rosa Eyleen Flynn v. American Airlines/Sedgwick CMS, Case No. 1D2026-1305, the First DCA reviewed a workers’ compensation petition for writ of prohibition arising from an August 28, 2024 accident.

On June 5, 2026, the court issued a short per curiam opinion dismissing the petition. The panel of Judges Kelsey, Long, and Treadwell gave no extended merits discussion and simply ended the original proceeding.

The practical takeaway is procedural: extraordinary writ petitions in workers’ compensation cases can end quickly when the court concludes prohibition is not the right vehicle or the record does not justify that relief. Even brief appellate dispositions can still matter because they leave the challenged lower-tribunal path in place.
