JCC Finds Left-Arm Myalgia Compensable but Denies Treatment in Johnson v. Advanced Roofing

In Johnson v. Advanced Roofing Inc./Summit, the West Palm Beach JCC considered whether a June 2025 heat-exhaustion incident caused compensable injuries to the claimant's left arm and low back, and whether the employer/carrier had waived its right to deny those conditions under the 120-day rule.

The JCC found that the employer/carrier authorized and paid for treatment of left-arm and leg myalgia but did not timely deny compensability, so waiver applied to those conditions. Waiver did not apply to the low back because the employer/carrier never authorized or provided back treatment, and the medical evidence did not establish a low-back injury through objective findings.

Although left-arm myalgia was compensable, the claimant did not prove a current need for treatment related to that condition. The order therefore denied the requested primary-care appointment for the back and left arm, denied compensability of the low back, and denied employer/carrier-paid attorney's fees and costs.
